More than a resume score.
Most tools stop at keyword matching and ATS theater. Human, Actually helps you tailor your entire application for a real job, then checks whether what you're sending is actually strong, actually supported, and actually sounds human.
One resume, every job
Upload your full career history once. For each job you apply to, the system extracts only what matters and builds a tailored resume and cover letter.
Recruiter-reviewed before you see it
Every resume and cover letter is critiqued from a recruiter perspective. High-priority issues are fixed automatically. You get the polished version.
ATS-safe without sounding like a robot
Keyword alignment and requirement coverage are built in, but the output reads like a human wrote it. Every character is verified safe for ATS parsing.
The more it knows, the stronger the output.
Most tools only look at your resume. Human, Actually pulls from every source of evidence you have — then only uses what's relevant for each specific job.
Resume
Upload your full career history. The longer and more detailed, the better — only what matters for each job gets used.
LinkedIn recommendations
Export your recommendations CSV from LinkedIn. Each one becomes third-party evidence that corroborates your resume claims, surfaces on requirement cards, and (sparingly) shows up in cover letters where it sharpens a hard requirement.
Personal website
The system crawls your site and portfolio pages to find projects, case studies, and proof of work that your resume might not mention.
GitHub profile
Repos, languages, README content, and commit history are analyzed to surface technical evidence automatically.
Writing samples & notes
Add context the system can't find on its own — project details, leadership experience, metrics you remember, anything that strengthens the story.
Protected sites
Need to pull from a site behind a login? Provide credentials securely and the system crawls it for you.
How it works
A better application in a few steps.
Paste the job description
Drop in the role you're applying for.
Add your evidence
Resume, LinkedIn recommendations, personal website, GitHub profile, writing samples, notes. The more the system knows about you, the stronger the output.
Get tailored output
Resume, cover letter, interview prep, and application form answers — built for that specific role, reviewed by an AI recruiter.
Fill the gaps
Answer targeted interview questions or just chat naturally. Your answers become evidence that makes everything stronger.
Apply with confidence
Download in Markdown or RTF, answer application form questions, and send something you can actually defend.
Everything you get for each application.
Not just a resume. A full application system that builds on your real experience, learns from every answer you give, and gets smarter the more you use it.
Tailored resume generation
A full ATS-safe resume built from your evidence, optimized for the specific role. Age-bias-proofed, recruiter-reviewed, and ready to download in Markdown or RTF.
Company-researched cover letters
Cover letters that reference the company's values and context — not generic templates. Reviewed for AI markers, weak closings, and thin evidence.
Application form answers
Paste any application question and get a tailored answer built from your evidence. One at a time, each grounded in what you can actually back up.
Interview coaching
Targeted questions that fill the exact gaps in your evidence. Your answers become material that improves the resume, cover letter, and analysis.
One-click screening answers
Yes/no requirements (work auth, visa sponsorship, willingness to relocate, security clearance) get a Yes/No/Skip toggle. One click and the requirement updates instantly — no LLM call, no jitter, no "Unknown" when you've clearly answered.
Third-party endorsements as evidence
LinkedIn recommendations are read for what each one actually attests to — specific skills, behaviors, named projects — then used to corroborate your claims and strengthen requirements they back up. The most credible evidence you have is what someone else wrote about you.
Evidence chat
Prefer to talk naturally? The chat extracts concrete facts from your conversation and adds them as evidence — no structured Q&A required.
Voice dictation
Dictate interview answers with your voice. The system transcribes and cleans up your words while keeping your natural voice.
Knowledge base
Answers you give in one application carry over to the next. The more you apply, the less you repeat yourself — and the stronger each application gets.
12 job family specializations
Engineering, product, marketing, sales, operations, finance, legal, healthcare, education, creative, consulting, and more. Each family tunes bullet priorities, metric emphasis, and positioning strategy.
Recruiter QA
Every resume and cover letter is scored on a rubric — specificity, keyword alignment, bullet strength, seniority signal, distinctiveness, credibility. Actionable fixes, not just scores.
Public presence audit
See your online presence through a recruiter's eyes. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and any URL — scanned for red flags, with rewrite suggestions for anything that hurts.
Most tools optimize for the score. This one optimizes for the application.
A pretty match score does not mean your resume is strong. It definitely does not mean it sounds human. Human, Actually is designed to help you send applications that are relevant, believable, and easier to defend when someone finally calls you back.

Before you apply, it checks for things that actually hurt you.
Weak bullets
Bullets that describe activity without showing what changed, shipped, or mattered.
Unsupported claims
Experience or skills the resume implies but your evidence does not actually back up.
Missing must-haves
Key requirements from the job description that neither your resume nor cover letter addresses.
Thin evidence
Sections where a recruiter would ask "but what did you actually do?" The system tells you exactly what to add.
Cross-document gaps
Resume and cover letter are reviewed together. If they tell different stories, the system catches it.
AI-sounding language
Hedge phrasing, self-deprecating gaps, weak closings, and generic enthusiasm are detected and rewritten.
See yourself through a recruiter's eyes.
Before a recruiter reads your resume, they Google you. The Public Presence Audit scans your LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and any URL you provide — then tells you exactly what a recruiter would flag, with rewrite suggestions for anything that hurts.
Try the presence auditWhat it checks

- •Bio and headline messaging
- •Public posts and tone
- •Inconsistencies between platforms
- •Red flags a recruiter would notice
- •Missing presence on expected platforms

FAQ
Is this just another ATS score tool?
No. It generates a full tailored resume and cover letter, reviews them from a recruiter's perspective, and tells you exactly what to add to make them stronger. ATS safety is built in, not the whole point.
Will it invent experience I don't have?
No. Everything is built from your real evidence. If the system needs more detail to write strong bullets, it asks you specific interview questions instead of making things up.
Will it make my resume sound like AI wrote it?
No. AI-sounding language is detected and rewritten automatically. Hedge phrasing, generic enthusiasm, and weak closings are caught by pattern matching and AI review.
Why should I upload a long resume?
The system only uses what is relevant to each job. A detailed resume with metrics, project names, and accomplishments gives it more evidence to work with. One-page optimized resumes produce thinner output.
What about my website and GitHub?
Adding more evidence sources means stronger output. Your website gets crawled for projects and case studies, your GitHub for technical proof. Writing samples and notes fill in the rest. The more the system knows, the less it has to guess.
How do LinkedIn recommendations factor in?
Export your Recommendations_Received.csv from LinkedIn (Settings & Privacy → Data Privacy → Get a copy of your data → Recommendations only — takes about 10 minutes, desktop only). Drop it in. Each recommendation gets read for the specific skills, behaviors, and projects it actually attests to. They corroborate your resume claims, surface on requirement cards as third-party evidence, and inform cover letter framing — third-party validation is the most credible thing you have.
Does it get better the more I use it?
Yes. Interview answers are saved to a knowledge base that carries across applications. Each new job you apply for starts with everything you've already told the system, so questions get more targeted and output gets stronger over time.
Is it really free?
Yes. You bring your own AI API key (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude are all supported) and pay only for what you use directly to the provider. The tool itself is free. If it helps you land a job, consider donating.
